Suno v6
New generation of AI music models built on licensed label catalogs.
About
Suno v6, launched September 9, 2026, is a full new generation of Suno's music models, replacing every prior version. It ships as three models: the flagship v6 for paying Pro and Premier subscribers, the experimental v6-wild that deliberately takes looser creative risks, and the free v6-mini available to all users. New capabilities include editing a single section or lyric of an existing song in plain language, combining elements of several songs into one mashup request, and isolating parts of a track to build a new beat.
What distinguishes v6 structurally is its training basis. Following settlements with Warner Music Group and BMG, the models were trained from scratch on licensed catalog material from Warner, BMG, and Believe, explicitly excluding recordings from Universal and Sony, who remain in litigation. Suno says a portion of revenue is shared with these partners from launch day, with rightsholders handling artist payments. Suno also began beta-testing Speech on October 1, 2026, a model that generates voice and music together as one track.
