About

Postshot is a Windows and Mac desktop app from Jawset that turns photos or video into Gaussian splats and radiance fields with a proper GUI instead of command-line tooling. It accepts everything from phone JPEGs to RAW and EXR, shows a live training preview, and offers masking, region-of-interest training, splat-count controls, and PLY/SPZ export for Unreal Engine, After Effects, and the web. Everything runs on your own GPU, which matters for sensitive or air-gapped work.

Pricing runs on three tiers: a free non-commercial tier with watermarked 4K SDR output, Indie at 17 euros a month for commercial use and watermark-free PLY/SPZ export, and Studio at 39 euros a month adding HDR, RAW inputs, CLI automation, and AprilTag multi-capture alignment. It has become a go-to desktop alternative to cloud splat services since its late-2023 beta.

Trust score — 6/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 6/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: shipping commercial product since late 2023 with documented tier pricing and active 1.1.x releases; covered by multiple independent 3D press reviews. Strengths: rare offline desktop GS workflow, strong format support, clear pricing. Docked for: (1) proprietary, Windows/Mac only, no public API; (2) speed and quality depend entirely on local GPU, and the free tier watermarks output. License: proprietary commercial.
