NVIDIA Maxine Audio Effects SDK
GPU-accelerated real-time audio effects for conferencing apps: noise removal, dereverb, AEC, super-resolution, Studio Voice, and speaker focus.
About
Maxine's Audio Effects SDK is what powers the audio half of NVIDIA Broadcast and the cloud Maxine platform: a set of GPU-accelerated, Tensor-Core-optimized effects developers drop into conferencing, streaming, and call-center apps. The roster covers background noise removal, room-echo (dereverb) removal, a combined denoise+dereverb model, acoustic echo cancellation, audio super-resolution (8/16 kHz up to wideband/full-band), Studio Voice in high-quality and low-latency variants for rescuing degraded mic audio, plus early-access speaker focus and voice font effects. NVIDIA open-sources the SDK API and sample apps (MIT) while the models ship through the Maxine developer installer under NVIDIA's Maxine terms. The platform itself was announced at GTC in October 2020 and has since been folded into NVIDIA AI for Media. The obvious constraints: it needs an NVIDIA GPU with Tensor Cores, it's Windows-centric (community projects like maxine-pipewire bring it to Linux), and there's no public benchmark — quality is NVIDIA-claimed and demonstrated through Broadcast, which is widely used but not independently measured.

Benchmarks
- No published benchmarks — quality is NVIDIA-claimed via Broadcast/Maxine demos
- Provider-claimed: real-time GPU-accelerated processing with reduced latency
Provider-reported unless a source says otherwise. Benchmarks are marketing-adjacent by nature — treat them as directional.
Use cases
Trust score — 7/10
Scored 7/10 (TIER verified, metrics-v1). Evidence: NVIDIA's shipping product — the same effects run in NVIDIA Broadcast with a large installed base; SDK API and samples are public and MIT-licensed. Strengths: broadest effect roster in one SDK (denoise, dereverb, AEC, super-res, Studio Voice, speaker focus), genuinely real-time on Tensor Core GPUs. Docked for: (1) no published benchmarks — all quality claims are NVIDIA's; (2) hardware-gated to NVIDIA GPUs and the models sit under NVIDIA's Maxine terms, not an open license. License: SDK API MIT; models under NVIDIA Maxine license (not open).
