ENUNU

The distro that made NNSVS usable for ordinary vocal-synth fans: a packaged NNSVS engine that plugs into UTAU and OpenUtau so you can train and render AI singers with a piano-roll UI.

About

ENUNU is not a new model. It is the packaging layer that turned NNSVS (Nagoya University's open neural singing synthesis toolkit, MIT) into something hobbyists could actually use. Originally built by oatsu-gh as a UTAU plugin powered by NNSVS, ENUNU became the standard way to run NNSVS voicebanks inside OpenUtau: you launch a small server (the official ENUNU-0.4.0 build or community forks like SimpleEnunu, which adds WORLD-diffusion and mel-diffusion vocoders) and render AI singing directly from the piano roll, with automatic timing correction and NNSVS-generated pitch. OpenUtau's own docs call ENUNU the most-used distro of NNSVS and treat the two names as near-synonyms. Because it inherits NNSVS's architecture, ENUNU supports multi-stream acoustic models, autoregressive F0 modeling and neural vocoders, and users can train their own voicebanks from their own singing. It is MIT-licensed and free.

Benchmarks

  • Inherits NNSVS's published results: best NNSVS system reached 3.86 MOS in the paper's listening tests, significantly over the reproduced Sinsy baseline (author-reported)
  • No ENUNU-specific benchmarks published; quality depends on the voicebank used

Provider-reported unless a source says otherwise. Benchmarks are marketing-adjacent by nature — treat them as directional.

Trust score — 7/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 7/10 (TIER verified, metrics-v1). Evidence: builds directly on the peer-reviewed NNSVS toolkit (ICASSP 2023, MIT); OpenUtau documents it as the standard NNSVS distro; active community forks (SimpleEnunu) track newer NNSVS features. Strengths: it bridged research SVS and the vocal-synth community, and the whole stack, engine, servers and docs, is open. Docked for: (1) a packaging/distro layer rather than a novel model, so its quality claims inherit from NNSVS voicebanks; (2) OpenUtau labels the integration experimental with known quirks; (3) no ENUNU-specific benchmarks exist. 7.0/10
  • · Packaging/distro of NNSVS (ICASSP 2023, arXiv 2210.15987), not a novel model
  • · OpenUtau documents it as the standard NNSVS distro; integration flagged experimental
  • · Original oatsu-gh/ENUNU repo created 2020-11-23
  • · Active community forks (SimpleEnunu) add diffusion vocoders
