About

Stripe does not publish a standalone stripe/skills repo — the official distribution is the stripe/ai repo ("one-stop shop for building AI-powered products with Stripe"): official plugins for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, plus a skills/ directory. The skills themselves are served from https://docs.stripe.com/.well-known/skills/index.json (10 skills: stripe-best-practices, stripe-docs, stripe-apps, stripe-projects, stripe-directory, stripe-pay, connect-recommend, connect-required-verification-information, metronome, upgrade-stripe). Stripe also hosts a remote MCP server at mcp.stripe.com.

  • Stripe Tax; usage-based billing via Metronome

Setup

  1. Claude Code: claude plugin install stripe@claude-plugins-official
  2. Codex: codex plugin add stripe@openai-curated
  3. Cursor: /add-plugin stripe (or Cursor marketplace)
  4. Any agent (manual): npx skills add https://docs.stripe.com (no auto-update; refresh with npx skills update -y)

A Stripe account; start in sandbox/test mode; use restricted API keys.

Docked one point because payments are inherently sensitive: the skills/MCP guide the agent toward live financial APIs, so restricted keys and sandbox-first are mandatory (Stripe's own skill teaches this).
