Roblox Cube
Roblox's open-source foundation model for generating 3D meshes from text.
About
Roblox Cube is Roblox's generative AI foundation for 3D creation. Cube 3D generates 3D meshes directly from text prompts, trained on native 3D data from the Roblox platform rather than reconstructed from images, so outputs are fully compatible with game engines. It is open source on GitHub and Hugging Face, integrated into Roblox Studio and its Lua API, and anyone can use or fine-tune it whether or not they build on Roblox. Over 1.8 million assets have been generated since its March 2025 launch. The newer 4D creation toolset builds on it to generate interactive, physics-driven objects (like driveable cars) from prompts.
It generates meshes, not finished game-ready assets with textures and rigging handled for you, and quality varies with prompt specificity. The research-only license on some releases limits commercial use, so check the license on the specific version you download.
What it can do
- Text-to-3D mesh generation
- Open-source foundation model
- Roblox Studio and Lua API integration
- 4D creation for interactive objects
- Fine-tunable on your own data
Setup
Use it in Roblox Studio, via the mesh generation API, or download the open-source model from GitHub/Hugging Face.
Prerequisites
Roblox Studio for the integrated path; Python/PyTorch familiarity for the open model.
