Redis Skills
Official Redis agent skills — data structures, vector search, caching, and performance.
About
Redis Skills is the official agent-skills collection from Redis, giving coding agents Redis-maintained best practices instead of model guesswork. The flagship redis-development skill covers data structures, the query engine, vector search, caching, and performance optimization; deeper skills drill into redis-core (data structures, key naming, TTL), redis-connections (pooling, pipelining, client-side caching), redis-query-engine (FT.SEARCH/FT.AGGREGATE), redis-vector-search (HNSW vs FLAT, hybrid search, RAG patterns with RedisVL), redis-semantic-cache (LLM response caching with LangCache), redis-clustering, redis-security, redis-observability, and iris-development (Redis Agent Memory). Install via npx skills add redis/agent-skills or as a Claude Code plugin.
The honest picture: the collection is deep but Redis-flavored — it won't warn you when Redis is the wrong tool (e.g., durable primary storage). Vector-search and semantic-cache skills track fast-moving features, so pin a release if you need reproducibility. Like all vendor skills, examples assume current Redis Stack capabilities; older self-hosted Redis versions may not support the showcased commands.
What it can do
- redis-development: data structures, vector search, caching
- redis-vector-search: HNSW/FLAT indexes, hybrid search, RAG
- redis-semantic-cache: LLM response caching with LangCache
- redis-query-engine: FT.SEARCH and FT.AGGREGATE
- redis-connections: pooling, pipelining, client caching
- redis-security, clustering, and observability guidance
Setup
Run npx skills add redis/agent-skills, or in Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add redis/agent-skills then /plugin install redis-development@redis.
Prerequisites
Claude Code or another SKILL.md-compatible agent; Node.js (npx); a Redis instance to work against.
