Readeck
A clean, modern self-hosted read-it-later and bookmark manager in a single Go binary, on Codeberg.
About
Readeck is a self-hosted read-it-later app that merges the Pocket/Instapaper reading workflow with bookmark management in one clean interface. Written in Go and shipped as a single binary or Docker container with SQLite built in, it saves the readable content of web pages for distraction-free reading, organizes with labels, highlights passages, and shares bookmarks by link or email with Open Graph previews.
It is AGPL-3.0 licensed and developed in the open on Codeberg rather than GitHub, where it holds around 1,100 stars. The feature set is thoughtful: full-text search across text, title, author, site, and labels; feeds for any bookmark list; a synchronization API; a diagnosis modal with an extraction log per bookmark; and import adapters for Pocket, Readwise Reader CSV, and Linkwarden, plus profile export and import. Community clients exist for iOS and Android alongside the official browser extension, and releases are steady, with 0.23.4 shipping in September 2026. No independent benchmarks are published.

Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: Codeberg shows ~1,128 stars with commits through September 2026 and release 0.23.4; independent comparisons confirm the single-binary install, full-text search, Pocket/Readwise/Linkwarden imports, and sync API. Strengths: the cleanest UX among self-hosted read-later apps per community consensus, zero-dependency install, strong migration tooling, copyleft license. Docked for: (1) smaller community than wallabag or linkding (Codeberg-based); (2) mobile clients are community-built, not official; (3) no independent benchmarks. License: AGPL-3.0.
