Postbot
Postman's built-in AI assistant — generates API tests, docs, and debugging help inside your workflow.
About
Postbot is Postman's built-in AI assistant, living inside the Postman app. It generates test scripts for requests or entire collections from natural language ("check status 201 and that the response has an id"), fixes broken tests, writes API documentation from live requests and responses, explains cryptic API errors in plain language, and visualizes response data as tables or charts. It is trained on Postman's own documentation, so it doubles as in-app help for Postman itself.
The honest picture: Postbot scaffolds from the single live response it sees — it cannot know your API's real semantics across methods, so generated tests need review against actual behavior (a POST id it asserts on may not really be stored). It is tied to the Postman ecosystem; teams that moved to lighter clients get nothing from it. And like all AI test generation, it produces happy-path coverage first — negative and edge cases still need human thought.
