Playwright Skills
Playwright's official CLI skill plus spec-driven testing skills for coding agents.
About
Microsoft's playwright-cli ships an official agent skill alongside the Playwright CLI, giving coding agents token-efficient browser automation: the playwright-cli skill plus references for spec-driven testing (plan, generate, heal). The Playwright Test Agents (planner, generator, healer) and this skill let agents explore an app, write a Markdown test plan, generate Playwright Test files, and heal failing tests.
Community skill packs also exist (FaisalNoman/playwright-skills, hzijad/playwright-agent-skills), but the Microsoft-maintained skill is the canonical source that tracks the CLI's actual behavior. Caveat: the skill assumes familiarity with Playwright Test concepts — locators, web-first assertions, and isolation — rather than teaching testing from scratch.
What it can do
- Token-efficient browser automation for agents
- Spec-driven test planning and generation
- Healing failing tests with traces and repeat runs
- Accessible-first locators and web-first assertions
- Auth state and network-mocking patterns
Setup
Install the skills directory from the playwright-cli repo into your agent's skills path; install the CLI itself for browser automation.
Prerequisites
An Agent Skills-compatible agent; Node.js and the Playwright CLI.
