Pinokio
Open-source AI browser — one-click install and run of local AI apps, no terminal needed.
About
Pinokio is a free, open-source Electron app that works like an app store for local AI. Instead of wrestling with Python environments, Git clones, and dependency conflicts, you browse a catalog of AI applications — Stable Diffusion UIs, LLM chat interfaces, voice cloning tools, video generators — and install each with one click. Pinokio ships with its own Python, Node.js, Git, and Conda binaries, creates an isolated environment per app, and launches everything through a browser-style GUI on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
The honest picture: convenience comes with a real security trade-off. Pinokio executes third-party install scripts with full system access, so a malicious or compromised script is a genuine remote-code-execution risk — a one-click RCE via the pinokio:// URL scheme was found in v3.9.0. Stick to reviewed scripts from trusted authors, don't disable OS security prompts reflexively, and remember many installed apps still need a capable GPU and tens of gigabytes of disk.
