NVIDIA Canvas
Paint by material and watch GauGAN AI turn doodles into landscapes.
About
NVIDIA Canvas is a free app in the NVIDIA Studio suite that brings the GauGAN real-time painting research to creators with an NVIDIA RTX GPU. Instead of painting with color, users paint with materials such as grass, cloud, mountain, or water, and the deep learning model renders a photorealistic landscape in real time on a second pane.
Sketching a pond makes nearby trees and rocks appear as reflections; swapping a material from snow to grass transforms a winter scene into a tropical one. Canvas offers nine styles with variations, 20 materials, style filters that mimic particular painters, and a Panorama mode for 360-degree images usable in 3D apps.
Work can be saved as PSD and refined in Adobe Photoshop. GauGAN debuted at NVIDIA GTC in 2019 and has been used by art teachers, creative agencies, and museums, and Canvas remains a popular entry point for AI-assisted landscape painting.
