MongoDB
Developer data platform with Atlas Vector Search for RAG and AI agent memory.
About
MongoDB Atlas is the managed document database that has become a default backend for AI applications, thanks to Atlas Vector Search. Unlike bolt-on vector stores, it combines semantic vector search, full-text search, and operational document data behind a single API, so developers can run hybrid queries for retrieval-augmented generation without duplicating or syncing data across systems.
Vector search is now also available in self-managed MongoDB deployments, and the ecosystem includes integrations with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and agent platforms like Dify. MongoDB positions the database as the memory layer for AI agents: the LLM provides reasoning, and the database provides persistent state and recall.
What it can do
- Atlas Vector Search for semantic similarity queries
- Hybrid vector, full-text, and geospatial search in one API
- RAG integrations with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Dify
- Persistent memory and state for AI agents
Setup
Create a free MongoDB Atlas cluster, create a vector search index, and connect with the official driver or ODM.
Prerequisites
An Atlas account or self-managed MongoDB; embeddings generated by a model provider.
