Losant

The low-code enterprise IoT platform: drag-and-drop workflows from device to edge to dashboard.

About

Losant is an enterprise IoT platform built around low-code development. Its signature is the visual workflow engine: you wire together device data ingestion, logic, integrations, and actions by dragging nodes, instead of writing glue services. Connectivity comes in over a scalable MQTT broker, webhooks, and integrations; the platform adds device command and control, digital twins, and white-labeled end-user experiences (customer-facing dashboards you can brand as your own product).

Its Edge Compute product extends the same low-code workflows to gateways and embedded devices, with built-in industrial connectors (Modbus, OPC UA, BACnet, SNMP), remote deployment of edge workflows, and store-and-forward so intermittent connections do not lose data. Losant is cloud-based or on-premise, with a free sandbox tier and custom pricing past that. It is aimed squarely at enterprises building connected products rather than hobbyist fleets, and review presence is thin outside the vendor's own pages.

What it can do

  • Visual low-code workflow engine for device logic and integrations
  • Scalable MQTT broker, webhooks, and third-party integrations
  • Bi-directional device command and control
  • Edge Compute with Modbus, OPC UA, BACnet, SNMP connectors
  • Store-and-forward edge data buffering
  • Digital twins and white-labeled customer dashboards
  • Cloud or on-premise deployment

Setup

Sign up for the free sandbox tier, create an application, register devices with access keys, then build ingestion and logic in the drag-and-drop workflow editor. Edge workflows deploy to Losant partner gateways (Dell, Advantech, Vantron, Lanner).

Prerequisites

A Losant account; devices or gateways that can reach the Losant MQTT broker or webhooks.

Trust score — 7/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 7/10 (metrics tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: losant.com documents the workflow engine, edge compute connectors, store-and-forward, and deployment options; Capterra corroborates the enterprise low-code positioning and the free sandbox tier. Strengths: genuinely fast time-to-connected-product for enterprises, rare edge+cloud low-code combo, industrial protocol support. Docked for: (1) fully proprietary, no self-hosted open-source path; (2) pricing is custom/quote-based past the sandbox, so costs are hard to predict; (3) independent review volume is thin, most claims are provider-stated. License: proprietary.
