About
Tongyi Lingma is Alibaba Cloud's intelligent coding assistant, built on the Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen) model family. It offers line-level and function-level code completion, natural-language-to-code generation, unit test suggestions, code explanation, and refactoring hints across VS Code and JetBrains IDEs, plus a standalone Lingma IDE.
Beyond completion, it has an Ask mode for troubleshooting and an Agent mode that plans multi-step tasks, edits across files, and works toward a goal autonomously. It is tuned for Alibaba Cloud service scenarios and enterprise Java workflows.
The basic edition is free for individuals, with paid team editions. Lifecycle note: one community registry reports Tongyi Lingma was renamed to Qoder CN in May 2026, but Alibaba's own channels still present it as Lingma, so the naming should be re-confirmed before production claims.
