LangGraph Studio
Visual IDE for running, debugging, and time-traveling LangGraph agents.
About
LangGraph Studio is LangChain's specialized agent IDE for developing LLM applications built on LangGraph. It visualizes your agent graph, lets you run it interactively from the UI, inspect state at every node, edit state and rerun (time-travel debugging), manage assistants, threads, and long-term memory, and push node inputs/outputs to LangSmith datasets for testing.
It comes as a macOS desktop app and as a cloud studio for apps deployed on LangGraph Platform, connecting to the dev server started by langgraph dev (typically localhost:2024). While in beta it is free to all LangSmith users on any plan tier. The honest caveat: it is tightly coupled to the LangGraph ecosystem — if your agents are not built on LangGraph, it is not for you — and the desktop app's macOS-only availability limits some teams, though the cloud version covers deployed apps.
What it can do
- Visual graph view of agent nodes, edges, and execution flow
- Interactive chat testing with thread management
- State inspector and time-travel debugging
- Assistant, thread, and long-term memory management
- LangSmith integration for datasets and failure-mode debugging
Setup
pip install langgraph langgraph-cli[inmem], add langgraph.json, run langgraph dev, open Studio at the printed URL or studio.langchain.com.
Prerequisites
Python 3.9+, a LangGraph agent project, a LangSmith account for the desktop app.
