About
Landing AI is the AI company founded by Andrew Ng in 2017, best known today for Agentic Document Extraction (ADE): an API platform that turns messy business documents into structured data. The platform breaks complex parsing into agentic steps, ships a document-specific foundation model (DPT-2, the Document Pre-trained Transformer), and handles gridline-free tables, merged cells, signatures, checkboxes, and ID cards. Parse converts documents to structured markdown; Extract pulls targeted fields with audit-ready traceability.
Earlier work focused on manufacturing computer vision (LandingLens platform, LandingEdge). The company raised a $57M Series A in 2021 led by McRock Capital, Andrew Ng moved to executive chairman in 2024 with Dan Maloney as CEO, and the platform is also available via the Snowflake Marketplace.
