Lambda Labs
GPU cloud for training and inference, from single instances to superclusters.
About
Lambda (branded the Superintelligence Cloud) is a specialized AI infrastructure provider that buys Nvidia GPUs and rents them as cloud capacity. Its product range spans on-demand single-GPU instances for developers up to Superclusters, managed clusters advertised at up to 165,000 GPUs with a choice of GB300 NVL72 or HGX B300 hardware, plus a roadmap built on Nvidia's Rubin generation. Customers include hyperscalers: Microsoft leases Lambda capacity for AI operations rather than buying chips directly.
The company's 2026 has been a financing sprint: a $1.5B venture round in late 2025, multiple $1B debt facilities through 2026, and October 2026 reports of a $4B pre-IPO round targeting a $14.5B valuation and a possible 2027 listing. Reported backlog hit $50B in September 2026, a measure of contracted demand rather than delivered capacity.
For AI teams it is a serious alternative to the big three clouds for GPU-heavy work. Caveats: availability varies by region and GPU generation, reserved-capacity pricing is negotiated rather than transparent, and the debt-fueled expansion model means execution risk sits with the provider's buildout pace.
What it can do
- On-demand GPU instances for training and inference
- Superclusters: managed multi-thousand-GPU clusters
- Latest Nvidia hardware (Blackwell Ultra, Rubin roadmap)
- Liquid-cooled data centers with customer-managed firewalls and keys
- 1-Click Clusters and inference endpoints
Setup
Create an account at lambda.ai, pick on-demand instances or talk to sales for reserved clusters.
Prerequisites
A Lambda account; for Superclusters, an enterprise contract.
