ImageFX
Google Labs image generator powered by Imagen 3, free with a Google account.
About
ImageFX is Google Labs' consumer-facing AI image generation tool, built on the Imagen 3 text-to-image model. It lives inside the Google Labs FX suite at labs.google/fx alongside Flow, Whisk, and MusicFX, and it converts text prompts into high-quality images within seconds.
Its signature interaction is prompt chips: keywords in the prompt become editable chips that can be swapped, deleted, or regenerated to explore variations, and each generation produces a set of square images saved to a library with seed control, download, and prompt-copy options. Generated images carry DeepMind's SynthID invisible watermark for traceability.
ImageFX is free to use with a daily generation limit and requires only a Google account. Reviewer coverage in 2026 rates it as a strong free option with good prompt adherence and Google's trademark safety filtering, while noting limits such as a single 1024x1024 output resolution and restrictive content policies that make it a starting point rather than a professional workflow tool.
