About

HyperDX is an open-source, developer-friendly observability platform that unifies session replays, logs, metrics, traces, and errors in one OpenTelemetry-native UI backed by ClickHouse. Its standout feature is correlating frontend session replays with backend traces, so you can watch what a user did and see exactly which service call failed underneath. The repo is MIT-licensed with ~9,600 stars. ClickHouse acquired HyperDX in March 2025 to build out its observability story, and the open-source project remains under active development alongside HyperDX Cloud.

The honest picture: the acquisition means the roadmap now serves ClickHouse's strategy first — good for ClickHouse users, worth watching for everyone else. As a younger project than SigNoz or Grafana's stack, its integration ecosystem is thinner. Session replay is powerful but adds meaningful data volume, so retention costs deserve attention on the cloud tier.

What it can do

  • Session replay correlated with backend traces and logs
  • OpenTelemetry-native logs, metrics, traces, and exceptions
  • ClickHouse-powered search at interactive speed
  • Dashboards, alerts, and saved searches
  • Acquired by ClickHouse in 2025 — deep ClickHouse integration

Self-host via Docker Compose from the hyperdx GitHub repo, or sign up for HyperDX Cloud. Install the JS/Python SDK or point OTel at the collector.
