About
Grafana is the widely adopted open-source observability platform for metrics, logs, traces, and profiles, pairing a flexible dashboarding UI with a large ecosystem of data sources. Grafana Labs monetizes through Grafana Cloud and enterprise features while keeping the core open source.
In October 2025 the company brought Grafana Assistant to general availability: a context-aware AI co-pilot embedded in Grafana that investigates incidents, generates and refines PromQL, LogQL, and TraceQL queries from plain-language prompts, creates and modifies dashboards, and runs multi-step Assistant Investigations trained on real-world SRE workflows. It also exposes an MCP server so coding agents can drive observability workflows programmatically.
