Gradio
Build and share ML and LLM demo apps in Python with a few lines of code.
About
Gradio is the fastest way to put a usable web UI on a machine-learning model. Write an Interface, ChatInterface, or a Blocks layout in Python, and Gradio renders a working app with inputs, outputs, streaming, and file handling. Passing share=True spins up a public link in seconds, and Hugging Face Spaces gives it a permanent free home.
The ChatInterface and streaming support make it a natural front end for LLM chatbots, RAG demos, and image/audio generation models, and the Blocks API composes multi-step layouts without touching JavaScript. The tradeoff is the one every demo-tool makes: beyond a certain complexity you fight the abstraction, and heavy production apps usually graduate to a custom frontend. Gradio is open source (Apache-2.0) under Hugging Face stewardship and one of the most-starred Python UI projects on GitHub.
What it can do
- Python-only app building with Interface, ChatInterface, and Blocks APIs
- Streaming outputs for chatbots and token-by-token LLM responses
- Built-in components for text, image, audio, video, and 3D
- share=True public links and Hugging Face Spaces hosting
- Custom theming and mounting inside existing FastAPI apps
Setup
pip install gradio, write a launch script with gr.Interface or gr.Blocks, then run python app.py; add share=True for an instant public link or deploy to Hugging Face Spaces.
Prerequisites
Python 3.9+; a model or function to wrap (local or API-based).
