About
Generated Photos is an Icons8 project offering 100,000 AI-generated faces, free to use with attribution back to the site. The faces were trained on data shot in-house over three years rather than scraped from the web, and the library later added 100,000 full-body synthetic photos for ads, web design, and game production. A searchable database, API access, and curated synthetic datasets for ML training round out the offering.
Free images require attribution; commercial licenses are paid. The imagery comes from the GAN era, so some faces look dated next to modern diffusion output, and the catalog's realism is uneven. Because none of the people are real, there are no model-release issues, but synthetic faces should still be disclosed in sensitive contexts such as news or hiring.
