Adobe Firefly Video
Adobe's commercially safe AI video model — Generate Video in Firefly, Generative Extend in Premiere.
About
The Firefly Video Model, released in public beta in February 2025, is Adobe's answer to AI video for professionals who can't afford legal ambiguity. Trained exclusively on Adobe Stock, licensed, and public-domain content, it is the only major video model with Adobe's IP indemnification — brands like Deloitte, IBM, Mattel, and PepsiCo use Firefly for production content. It powers Generate Video in the Firefly app and Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, which fills gaps at the start or end of clips. Firefly Boards adds collaborative ideation, and the ecosystem now includes partner models (Veo 3, Luma Ray, Pika 2.2, Runway Gen-4, Ideogram 3.0, Flux.1 Kontext) alongside Adobe's own image, video, audio, and vector models. All outputs carry Content Credentials.
The honest picture: the indemnified Firefly Video model itself is the safe-but-bland option — roughly 5-second clips at 1080p, costing about 500 credits per video, with quality that trails frontier generators. Pricing runs from a limited free tier to $9.99/mo Standard (2,000 credits) and $19.99/mo Pro (4,000 credits). The partner models inside Firefly Boards are more capable but carry no commercial-safety guarantee, so the safety story only covers Adobe's own model. You're paying for legal peace of mind and Premiere integration, not the wildest generations.
