Firecrawl MCP Server
Official Firecrawl MCP server: scrape, search, and extract the web for agents.
About
The official Firecrawl MCP server. It exposes Firecrawl's web-scraping stack — scrape, search, crawl, extract, and deep research — as MCP tools (27 tools in the full profile). It also offers a hosted keyless endpoint (mcp.firecrawl.dev/v2/mcp) exposing a 3-tool subset for zero-setup use, and a search-only endpoint.
Full use requires a Firecrawl API key (usage-billed). As with any scraping tool, returned content enters agent context — treat it as untrusted.
What it can do
- Web scraping, crawling, and structured extraction
- Web and deep-research search
- Hosted keyless endpoint for quick start
- 27 tools in the full profile; 3-tool keyless subset
Setup
- Get a Firecrawl API key at firecrawl.dev (or use the hosted keyless endpoint for the 3-tool subset).
- Add to your MCP client config with env
FIRECRAWL_API_KEY. - Restart the client; verify tool listing with the MCP Inspector.
Prerequisites
An MCP-compatible client; Firecrawl API key for full tools (keyless tier exists).
Use cases
Works with
Trust score — 8/10
Scored 8/10 (verified tier). Official Firecrawl project (~7.6k stars, MIT, pushed days ago), README tool profiles verified. Docked for the usage-billed API dependency and a maintenance wrinkle (zero tagged releases in 12 months — they ship continuously without tags). Strong capability set, but the paywalled backend caps it below the reference servers.
