About

Figma Sites, launched at Config 2025, turns the design tool into a website builder. Users design, build, and publish functional sites without leaving the Figma canvas, using templates, layout presets, and interaction blocks. AI-assisted code generation lets designers describe behaviors in plain language — "make this button trigger an animation" or "have this element respond to scrolling" — and the tool writes the interaction code. Responsive design works through breakpoints and Auto Layout, and sites publish to figma.site subdomains with custom domains available on paid plans.

The honest picture: Sites is still in beta and has real limits. You cannot export your site's code for external publishing — everything stays hosted by Figma on AWS. Publishing requires a paid plan with edit access, there is one custom domain per site (no wildcards or domain paths), and the promised CMS is still on the way. For designers already living in Figma who want a live site fast, it's excellent; for anyone who needs to own their code or hosting, it's a dead end for now.
