Codegen
Agentic AI coding platform that turns tickets into pull requests — acquired by ClickUp in Dec 2025.

About
Codegen was founded in 2023 by Jay Hack as an agentic AI platform that connects to codebases and project-management boards like Jira and Linear, then autonomously generates pull requests to resolve support tickets. It raised a $16 million seed round led by Thrive Capital (with Adam D'Angelo and Mike Krieger participating) at a $60 million post-money valuation.
In December 2025 ClickUp acquired Codegen to power its "Super Agents" — AI coworkers that plan, code, and manage workflows inside the ClickUp workspace. Hack joined ClickUp as Head of AI. The standalone Codegen product's future is now tied to ClickUp's platform, so teams evaluating it should expect the roadmap to live inside ClickUp's ecosystem rather than as an independent tool.
