Codecov
Code coverage reporting inside your workflow, now part of Sentry.
Acquired — still operating
acquired by Sentry late 2022
About
Codecov is a dedicated code-coverage reporting solution that plugs into CI/CD pipelines to show which lines of code tests actually exercise. It groups, merges, archives, and compares coverage reports across languages and platforms, surfacing coverage deltas directly in pull requests so teams can see the quality impact of every change. Its customers have included Lyft, Slack, The Washington Post, and Alteryx.
Sentry acquired Codecov in late 2022 (terms undisclosed) to extend its application-monitoring platform earlier into the development lifecycle, and has since expanded upstream with AI code review features. Limitations: coverage is a proxy metric that can be gamed, and teams should know Codecov suffered a widely publicized supply-chain breach of its bash uploader in April 2021, so credential hygiene around the uploader matters.

- Flaky-test and carryforward flags
- Sentry ecosystem integration
