About

BrightHire is an interview intelligence platform founded in New York in 2019 by Ben Sesser. It records, transcribes and analyzes job interviews, then helps teams plan structured interviews, share evidence with hiring managers and make decisions on what candidates actually said rather than fuzzy memories. The company says users have conducted more than one million interviews for around 200 enterprises, and named customers include Canva, Duolingo, Instacart, InVision, Salesloft, Mural and Angi.

BrightHire raised $36 million across three rounds: a $3 million seed led by Flybridge, a $12.5 million Series A led by Index Ventures, and a $20.5 million Series B led by 01A. In November 2025 Zoom announced it was acquiring BrightHire, with the deal closing in December 2025; it continues as a standalone brand inside Zoom, and in June 2026 it launched Candidate Fraud Detection in early access for Zoom Workplace customers.

A distinctive stance: BrightHire says its AI does not score, rank or recommend candidates, and does not replace human judgment. It uses OpenAI models for transcript summarization and states customer data is not used to train AI. Greenhouse customers can start free with unlimited interviews for three months for up to five users. Independent contract data puts the median annual deal around $18,000, with pricing otherwise unpublished.

What it can do

  • Structured interview planning with guided questions

  4. Build structured interview plans with role-specific questions.
  5. Record interviews, share highlighted evidence with hiring panels, and review hiring analytics.

/10 trustVerified

Scored 7/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: $36M total raised across seed/Series A/Series B (cbinsights.com; bouncewatch.com); 1M+ interviews for ~200 enterprises (brighthire.com); Zoom acquisition announced Nov 13, 2025, closed Dec 2025 (zoom.com). Strengths: explicit no-scoring AI stance, no-training-data policy, Zoom backing reduces platform risk. Docked for: (1) pricing unpublished outside the freemium tier; (2) post-acquisition roadmap is tied to Zoom Workplace. License: proprietary commercial SaaS.
