About

Bolt.new by StackBlitz is the flagship of the vibe-coding wave: describe an app in a prompt and get a working full-stack project running entirely in your browser. The trick is WebContainer technology, which runs a real Node.js environment — filesystem, terminal, package manager — client-side with zero installation. It hit 1 million generated websites in its first five months. Pricing is token-based: a free tier around 1M tokens per month, with Pro plans from $20 to $200 per month for 10M to 120M tokens, and one-click deploys to Netlify or Vercel.

The honest picture: tokens burn fast once you start debugging — users routinely report spending millions of tokens fixing what the agent generated, which makes the sticker price deceptive for anything beyond prototypes. Generated apps typically need real engineering review before production, and unlike Lovable, Bolt leaves database and auth wiring largely manual. It is a superb demo and prototype machine; it is not a substitute for a development team.
