Web Quality Skills
Addy Osmani's 6-skill web quality suite: Lighthouse audits, Core Web Vitals, a11y, SEO.
About
web-quality-skills by Addy Osmani (Google Chrome engineering) is a six-skill collection for optimizing web projects against Google Lighthouse methodology and Core Web Vitals: web-quality-audit (umbrella skill cross-linking the rest), performance, core-web-vitals (LCP/INP/CLS thresholds and fix patterns with framework examples), accessibility (WCAG 2.2 criteria and checklists), seo (technical and on-page), and best-practices (security, modern APIs). Each skill is a dense reference document the agent loads when the topic comes up — knowledge expansion rather than executable workflow. MIT licensed, tens of thousands of installs across the skills.sh ecosystem.
These are reference skills, not measurement tools: the agent still needs to run Lighthouse or WebPageTest itself to get real numbers, and a skill cannot replace judgment on trade-offs. Thresholds also drift as Google updates the specs, so the skill content needs the maintainer to stay current — it has been actively maintained through 2026.
What it can do
- Six focused skills: audit, performance, web vitals, a11y, SEO, best practices
- Lighthouse methodology encoded
- Core Web Vitals thresholds and fix patterns
- WCAG 2.2 accessibility checklists
- Framework-specific examples (Next.js, React, Vue)
- Performance budget recommendations
